CHAIR
Jenny has been involved with the Committee since 2019 when her eldest son started at the Playgroup. She was initially a member of the Committee, helping out with fundraising events. She then held the position of Treasurer for two years, before stepping up to Chairperson at last years’ AGM in 2024. Both her boys are now at school.

“I’m committed to supporting the amazing local Playgroup, which has supported my sons so well through their early years - it’s time to give back!”

Role of Chairperson:

Chairs committee, general and annual meetings including the AGM.  Assists the Secretary with the preparation of the agenda for these meetings.  Co-ordinates the work of the Committee.  Acts as the “Nominated Person” for Ofsted purposes.  Line manages the Manager of the Pre-School.  Works alongside the Treasurer and supports the rest of the Committee members.

VICE CHAIR
Janine joined the Committee as Vice Chair, at our AGM in June this year. Janine’s son joined in September and she has previously had nieces attend. Janine is a qualified Early Years Teacher and has a background in teaching in the Early Years and SEN. She was keen to be involved with the preschool to support its ongoing success “The preschool is a huge asset to the village and our children are so lucky to have a wonderful setting on the doorstep. I'm passionate about early years education and am looking forward to supporting such a wonderful early years setting.”

Role of Vice Chairperson:

Provides a supporting role, acting as Deputy to the Chair and ensuring the Committee functions effectively. Assists the Chair in various tasks, including leading meetings in their absence, ensuring smooth operations and collaborating with other Committee members to achieve Playgroup’s goals.

SECRETARY
Jade has been involved with the Committee for the past year. She joined because her son was attending the Playgroup, and with another son and niece joining this year, she’s committed to being part of its journey for years to come. As a qualified primary school teacher working in a local school, she brings experience and enthusiasm to the role. “I’m passionate about contributing to the playgroup’s continued success and ensuring it remains a nurturing and inspiring environment for all our children”.

Role of Secretary:

Organises all meetings including booking venues (if appropriate) and liaising with Committee members to ensure they are all informed.  Prepares and circulates agenda’s for each meeting, takes minutes at each meeting and circulates minutes for approval of all Committee members.  Supports all Committee members.

TREASURER
Emma joined the Committee last year in 2024 as Vice Chair, when her daughter joined the PlayGroup because… “I wanted to be more involved in my child’s early learning environment and help create a welcoming space for other families. It’s a great opportunity to contribute to the community, support the amazing work of the staff, and have a say in how the playgroup runs. I also enjoy meeting other parents and working together to make a positive impact”.

Role of Treasurer:

Prepares or assists in preparing an annual budget for the Pre-School and monitors it. Signs cheques jointly with the Manager or other nominated Committee members. Keeps accounts of all income and expenditure and keeps the Committee aware of the financial position of the Pre-School by providing a brief statement of the finances at every meeting. Alongside the Chairperson, provides necessary information to the Accountant for end of year accounts and presents them at the AGM.

SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
Sophie joined the Committee two years ago, when her daughter first started at the Playgroup and now her son is attending.
“When I joined the committee in 2024, I took on the role of Treasurer and really enjoyed being involved in the running of the preschool. Now, in my social media role, I love sharing all the wonderful events and activities that preschool puts on for the whole community. One of the best parts of being on the committee is getting to know so many other parents and working together to support the preschool.”

Role of Social Media Coordinator:

Prepares marketing materials for the various fundraising and social events that we host. Keeps our Website and Facebook up to date and posts about our various events on local groups.

FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR
Danny has been a part of the Committee for 3 years now, having joined when his son started at the Playgroup. Danny continues to support the Committee, with his twins attending the Playgroup. Last year he stepped up to lead our wonderful fundraising team, comprising Tom, Lauren, Adam, Becca, Megan, Jemma, Lisa, Mark and Zara.

Role of Fundraising Lead:

Responsible for generating income and raising awareness of the Playgroup within the wider community, through various activities. Leads the fundraising efforts, manages fundraising events and promotes the Playgroup to potential donors and supporters.
